Homecare Do & Do Nots

←back

You've finished your initial install appointment and your hair looks amazing!

so Now what?

Daily Maintenance

Apply oil every day to keep them soft and shiney. BRUSH, BRUSH, BRUSH!! When wearing your hair up, loosen the pony to avoid tension on the corners. Always hold the base when taking out the scrunchie. Secure hair in a loose braid while sleeping.

Washing

Before washing, brush your hair to remove all tangles. Take the time to shampoo your scalp thoroughly, including between the rows. Make sure to avoid scrubbing/rubbing the tops of the rows. Condition from mids to ends (never the roots). Be sure to include the ends of your natural hair. Rinse, rinse, rinse! A deep conditioning mask is recommended every few washes.

Brushing

When brushing, place hand firmly at the top of the row to provide support while brushing and to protect from the brush catching it. Always brush from the bottom up.

Drying

The base of the row MUST be COMPLETELY dried after showering or workouts. If left wet, the hand sewn part of the wefts may expand causing it to be easier to grab while brushing and increase chances of matting. I will require extensions that look like this to be replaced at the next reinstall.

styling

Lower the heat on those hot tool and always use a heat protectant! When sleeping, secure them in a loose braid.

Sunscreen/Sunless Tanners

There are ingredients in many sunscreens that will turn those gorgeous extensions a pink/orange color, especially in blondes! The ingredients to steer clear from are Avebenzone (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane) and Octocrylene.
TIP: Look towards mineral based products.
